Dortmund expect more from Meunier

BVB boss Michael Zorc has told Thomas Meunier to 'improve his performances significantly' in the 2021/22 campaign.
Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has warned Thomas Meunier to improve his performances in the upcoming season.

After a difficult first season at Signal Iduna Park, the Belgian international has agreed to "press the reset button," according to Zorc.

"I've made it clear to him that we expect him to improve his performances significantly," the Dortmund boss told Ruhr Nachrichten and added:

"He reflects on his performances in a very self-critical way. He's a super guy, who is maybe overthinking things a bit at times.

"I liked him a lot at the European Championship. He made some good runs and put in some good crosses."

The 29-year-old right-back featured 33 times in his first season at Dortmund, racking up a goal and two assists.
