Matchday 23 – team of the week (4-1-3-2):

Goalkeeper: Roman Bürki, Borussia Dortmund
Impressive performance from the Swiss keeper who helped Dortmund keep a clean sheet in the 1-0 win over Gladbach with several stunning saves.

Right-back: Giulio Donati, Mainz
Tireless and solid on Mainz' right side. Got himself an assist in the 2-0 win over Hertha BSC.

Central defender: Salif Sané, Hannover 96
The strong Senegalese defender has been playing on a constant high level this season, and he produced another great performance in Hannover 96's 1-1 draw with FC Köln.

Central defender: Jorge Meré, FC Köln
Strong performance by the Spanish defender. Won 70 percent of his duels, positioned himself very well and was good at bringing the ball forward. Found a teammate with 97 percent of his passes.

Left-back: Christian Günter, SC Freiburg
A composed and sound performance from the left-back who helped keeping the Bremen offence quiet in Freiburg's 1-0 win.

Defensive midfielder: Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Mainz
A big physical presence in the middle of the park and intercepted many balls in Mainz' 2-0 win over Hertha BSC. Also got an assist.

Right midfielder: Marco Reus, Borussia Dortmund
The injury-plagued Dortmund star got his first goal since May as he produced a moment of genius and scored via the woodwork in the 1-0 win over Gladbach. Also hit the crossbar after a good save from Gladbach keeper Yann Sommer.

Central midfielder: Kevin-Prince Boateng, Eintracht Frankfurt
Once again a commanding presence for Eintracht Frankfurt in the 2-1 win over RB Leipzig. Drove his team forward and scored a goal.

Left midfielder: Leon Bailey, Bayer 04 Leverkusen
As so many times before this season, the Jamaican winger was a constant threat. Scored the 1-0 goal in Leverkusen's 2-1 win over Hamburger SV as he took the ball from Douglas Santos and slotted the ball past Christian Mathenia.

Striker: Robin Quaison, Mainz
The quick attacker scored both goals - the first one a nice solo effort - as Mainz took a surprising 2-0 win against Hertha away from home.

Striker: Mario Gomez, Stuttgart
Scored the match winning goal and came close to a second in Stuttgart's 1-0 win against Augsburg.
