German national team sporting director Rudi Völler is confident that Julian Nagelsmann’s career will get back on track.

Völler told Bild that Nagelsmann, who stepped down as Germany head coach following a disappointing round of 32 exit to Paraguay at this summer’s World Cup, will soon be back in charge of a top club.

“We’ve spoken on the phone several times. Julian will take a little time to breathe and calm down. And then he’ll quickly take charge of another top team, I have no doubts about that. He is an excellent coach," Völler said.

Völler is now working alongside Jürgen Klopp, who has brought a sense of renewed optimism to the DFB.

“There was a fundamentally positive atmosphere with Julian as well. Unfortunately, at some point, it shifted a little,” Völler explained.

Nagelsmann managed Hoffenheim, RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich before being appointed Germany head coach in 2023.
