Haviing reportedly already found a loan locale for attacker Noah Weißhaupt, SC Freiburg are - per Sky Sports - also preparing to ship 22-year-old defender Kenneth Schmidt out on loan for the next 18 months. The Pay TV channel reports that Schmidt is headed to Hannover 96 on loan without a purchase clause until the end of the 2025/26 season.

Schmidt appeared on the verge of a rapid rise for both club and country near the end of the 2022/23 campaign, but has seen his development arrested by injuries last year and throughout much of the current season. The Freiburg-native made just seven appearances across all competitions last year. He hasn't logged any minutes for the SCF senior team this year.
