Interest from two top tier sides in little utilized SC Freiburg winger Noah Weißhaupt has reportedly ended with the 23-year-old making a firm decision in favor of Hamburg's FC St. Pauli shortly before the winter playing break. This is reported by German footballing journalist Sebastian Wolff of Kicker Magazine.

Weißhaupt will join fellow Freiburg professional Robert Wagner in spending the duration of the season on loan with the Kiezkicker. Unfortunately, a structural injury has precluded Wagner from being able to showcase his skills under Alexander Blessin.

St. Pauli and the Bundesliga's other newly promoted side Holstein Kiel both currently contest the relegation race despite entering the winter break with wins in their respective final 2024 league fixtures. Kiel have also been proactive in procuring reinforcements, signing defender David Zec today.
