Waldemar Anton dreams of returning to Germany setup

The BVB centre-half is hoping his latest spell of good performances catches the eye of Bundestrainer Julian Nagelsmann.

Waldemar Anton dreams of making a comeback to the German National Team, Sky Germany reports.

“I think we have a lot planned for the summer,” said Anton, alluding to Germany’s involvement in the UEFA Nations League.

“Nevertheless, it is important that you deliver your own performance in the pitch at the club and that the team performance is right.

I think everything looks very positive… the team still believed,” added the centre-half whilst discussing Dortmund’s latest upturn in form.

The 28-year-old’s last appearance for Die Mannschaft came in a substitute cameo during a 1-0 win over the Netherlands in October 2024.

Anton’s chances of a call-up could be significantly boosted since both Nico Schlotterbeck and recently Antonio Rudiger picked up injuries
