Bayern Munich have agreed to sell João Palhinha to SL Benfica, according to Portuguese news outlet SIC Notícias.

The report claims that the two clubs have agreed a deal worth €15 million plus a further €5 million in bonuses, with the transfer expected to be completed soon.

Aston Villa and Newcastle United have also shown interest in Palhinha, but Benfica now appear to have prevailed in the race after making a concrete offer for the 31-year-old, whom Bayern have been looking to offload for some time.

Palhinha joined Bayern from Fulham in 2024 for a reported €51 million but has never been able to establish himself at the Bavarian club.

He spent last season on loan at Tottenham Hotspur.
