Report: Weigl is PSG's top transfer target this month

Paris Saint-Germain reportedly consider Borussia Dortmund's Julian Weigl their number one transfer target this month.
Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl tops Paris Saint-Germain's wishlist this month, sources have told ESPN.

According to ESPN, PSG coach Thomas Tuchel wants to strengthen his midfield in January, and the club bosses have recognised the need to bring in a defensive midfielder.

Weigl is said to be open to play under his former coach again, and Tuchel has admitted that he considers the 23-year-old an 'interesting' player.

"Julian is still interesting. However, I cannot speak about this. He was my player and we worked together. Julian played very well for us with Dortmund, but he is still one of their players," Tuchel told RMC Sport earlier this month as per ESPN.

However, a source told ESPN that it could turn out to be difficult for PSG to convince Dortmund to sell Weigl this month.

Both Sport Bild and Kicker have reported that Dortmund are unlikely to let Weigl go in January as he's seen as the main back-up for Axel Witsel.
