Schick unlikely to play for Leverkusen again this season

It will be "tight" for Patrik Schick to return from injury before the end of the season, according to Bayer Leverkusen boss Simon Rolfes.
It looks increasingly unlikely that Patrik Schick will play for Bayer Leverkusen this season.

Speaking to Kicker, Leverkusen CEO Simon Rolfes has revealed that the striker is making progress following his muscle injury, but in terms of playing before the end of the season, it's looking "tight" for him.

"He has made progress, but he has not made the breakthrough. He is in the process of finding and going through the next therapy step," Rolfes said, adding:

"Surgery is not an issue at the moment."

The striker is in the Czech Republic until the end of the week, where he will be in the hands of internationally renowned sports physicians.
