Henriksen and Mainz not "afraid" of Bayern

Despite the 8-1 defeat his Mainz team suffered at the hands of Bayern Munich last time they faced them, Bo Henriksen is not afraid ahead of Wednesday's DFB-Pokal clash at MEWA Arena.

A tough task awaits Bo Henriksen and Mainz when they host Bayern Munich in the second round of the DFB-Pokal on Wednesday.

The last time Mainz met Bayern in March, they were thrashed 8-1 in the Bundesliga. Nevertheless, Bo Henriksen is optimistic going into Wednesday's match.

"I am never afraid. Eleven against eleven, we're playing at home, anything can happen," said the Mainz coach on Tuesday.

"Maybe it was good for us to lose against Bayern. After that game, we didn't lose in 11 games," he added, looking back at the 8-1 defeat in March.

Henriksen said he has a "good feeling" about Tuesday's game.

"We don't just want to defend. If you only defend against Bayern, you lose. We also want to go forward when we get the chance."
