Franck Ribery linked with Sheffield United

Sheffield United are reportedly showing an interest in signing Franck Ribery on a free transfer.
Newly-promoted Premier League side Sheffield United are looking into the possibility of bringing Franck Ribery to England, Kicker reports.

The 36-year-old's contract with Bayern München runs out at the end of the month, and the veteran has said that he wants to continue his career.

However, according to the report, Ribery would prefer a move to a European top club if the opportunity arises.

Ribery has previously been linked with a move to Qatar as well as Australian side Western Sydney Wanderers, but both those destinations are apparently out of the question for him.

The French winger made 38 appearances for Bayern München during the 2018/19 season with seven goals and four assists to his name.

Update: Sheffield United have told Sky that they will not be signing the French veteran.
