Marc-André ter Stegen insists he has a good relationship with Manuel Neuer

Marc-André ter Stegen has made it clear that he has a good relationship with Manuel Neuer despite their battle for Germany's number-one shirt.
Marc-André ter Stegen claims there is no problem between him and Manuel Neuer even though they are competing for the role as Germany's first-choice goalkeeper.

The two rivals exchanged blows in the media last month after ter Stegen expressed his frustration with his lack of playing time for Germany, but the Barcelona goalkeeper insists he has a good relationship with Neuer.

"We're totally professional. We both want to play, of course, but we want to act professionally above all. We have a good relationship and will support each other, no matter in which constellation. I'm pretty relaxed about it, just like he is," ter Stegen told reporters at a press conference today.

"I want to show myself off for both club and country and make the decision as difficult as possible for the German national team coach. 'Manu' has an advantage, and I can only give my best," he added.

Germany coach Joachim Löw has said that ter Stegen will play in Wednesday's friendly against Argentina while Neuer will be in goal for Sunday's Euro 2020 qualifier against Estonia.
