Bayern coach Hansi Flick admits he could use another winger

Bayern München coach Hansi Flick says he could use another wide player amid speculation linking the German champions with Manchester City winger Leroy Sané.
Bayern München coach Hansi Flick has admitted that he would like to have another wide player at his disposal for the 2020/21 season.

Asked about potential transfer targets ahead of Bayern's DFB-Pokal semi-final against Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday, Flick responded:

"If you ask me about positions, I'd say wide players – full-backs or wingers – who can add a bit of pace to the team."

The German champions have been heavily linked with a summer move for Manchester City winger Leroy Sané, who would give Flick another option on the wing.

"At the moment, we have three wingers in our squad - Serge Gnabry, Ivan Perisic and Kingsley Coman - and maybe that's not quite enough over a whole season. We've talked about that, and [sporting director] Hasan [Salihamidzic] knows the situation."

As things stand, Ivan Perisic is due to return to Inter, when his loan spell is over at the end of the season.
