Official: Crystal Palace release German international Max Meyer

South London EPL club Crystal Palace and former Schalke 04 striker have, by mutual consent, terminated the footballer's existing contract.

The 25-year-old former German international is now a free-agent.
The scorer of 24 goals for the Germany U15s, U17s, and U21s now stands available for any Bundesliga club to acquire on a free transfer. As expected his extremely disappointing tenure in England's Premier League came to an end this transfer window via a full dissolution of his contract.

Many Bundesliga clubs will surely remain interested in the highly touted youth prospect who once scored 17 goals for FC Schalke 04 over parts of five seasons. Since leaving the Bundesrepublik in 2018, Meyer has scored just once in 47 appearances for the Eagles of South London. He has not made a single appearance for his EPL club this year.

Media sources most recently linked Meyer with relegation candidates 1. FC Köln. The fact that he no longer operates under a professional contract means that any club can also sign him after the February 1st transfer deadline.
