Report: RB Leipzig identify prolific Frankfurt marksman as Daka alternative

As one of 2020/21 Bundesliga’s most prolific strikers, André Silva has quickly garnered attention from all around Europe for a potential transfer.
With 28 goals in the German top flight in 32 appearances, Silva ended the season as the league’s second-most effective goalscorer – only behind the legendary Lewandowski.

Die Adler have been blessed with the presence of the Portuguese and now RB Leipzig are tracking him, according to latest reports from Germany, particularly rblive.de and Sky Deustchland.

Before the end of the season, Atletico Madrid were reportedly interested in Silva. Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Bundesliga counterparts Borussia Dortmund are all being linked with a move for the Portuguese striker.

However, RB Leipzig’s primary target remains their sister club RB Salzburg’s striker Patson Daka, who has been prolific in the Austrian Bundesliga in 2020/21, having scored 34 times in 42 caps for the club across all competitions. He will also come at half the Portuguese marksman’s value.

Frankfurt will not let André Silva move for anything less than €45m, which is his transfermarkt value.

He has played 71 times for the West German club across two seasons, scoring 45 goals.
