As the Bundesliga season drew the curtain for FC Koln last month, the club’s two centre-backs – Sebastiaan Bornauw and Ellyes Joris Skhiri played a crucial role in pushing the West German club away from getting relegated to 2.Bundesliga. They are now the talk of a transfer move away from Cologne.

26-year old Skhiri, who most recently was reported to have his transfer bid €8m from Olympique Lyonnais rejected, has also been on the books of Atalanta.

Atalanta will likely make a move for the Tunisian international in the coming days and it is also expected of Lyon to submit an increased bid.

Koln are said to have established their asking price of €15m for the former Montpellier defender. He has a transfer market value of €10m, according to transfermarkt and a contract deal valid upto June 2023 with the Bundesliga club.

He was purchased by Koln for €6m from Montpellier in July 2019.

Teams such as AC Milan, Fiorentina, West Ham, and Sevilla are also reportedly interested in Skhiri.
