Rüdiger: 'It was important for my development to leave the Bundesliga'

Antonio Rüdiger believes he has taken a step forward as a player since he left the Bundesliga.

Antonio Rüdiger says leaving the Bundesliga helped him become a better player.



The German international, who left Stuttgart for AS Roma in 2015 before moving on to Chelsea in 2017, told reporters at a press conference on Sunday:

"It was important for my development as a player to leave the Bundesliga, prove myself in a different league and learn a new language.

"To become world class I would still have some work to do."

The 28-year-old centre-back has made 40 appearances for the German national team.
