Kicker Report: After surgery, Tapsoba out until October at earliest

German footballing magazine Kicker reports that Bayer 04 Leverkusen center back Edmond Tapsoba has undergone surgery for his syndemosis tear and will be sidelined until at least October.
Thus far, the club itself has not provided an supplemental updates on Edmond Tapsoba's injury since Tuesday afternoon. Germany's preeminent footballing publication nevertheless reports that the ankle tear was severe enough to require surgery and that die Werkself cannot rely upon the Burkinabé international's return until at least October.

The news may have serious ramifications for the club's attempts to offload central defenders Tin Jedvaj and the persistent transfer rumors surrounding Jonathan Tah. Following the retirement of the Bender twins and the departure of Aleksandar Dragovic, die Werkself find themselves suddenly quite shorthanded at the position.

If Tapsoba's recovery time is anywhere near that which is projected, Leverkusen will find themselves without the 22-year-old through at least the first seven matchdays of the coming season.
