Nürnberg took an early lead in the game by taking advantage of Grant-Leon Ranos’ misplaced pass. The in-form youngster Mohamed Alì Zoma sets up Rabby Nzingoula’s maiden goal with a brilliant link-up play from the attacking duo.

Mehmet Aydin thought he leveled the score early after the restart with a wide free-kick, but the goal failed to pass a VAR check with Jovan Mijatovic’s interference from an offside position.

Zoma nearly added a goal to his assist with the next big moment of the game. Mijatovic was the reason Braunschweig denied an equalizer, but the striker eventually netted his first 2. Bundesliga goal from close range at the hour mark.

Ten minutes later, the hosts came close to completing the comeback with Florian Flick’s attempt against his parent club. Aydin also had another chance from a free-kick five minutes before time as Nürnberg reverted to defending their solitary point.

At the end, nothing was separating the sides in the difficult weather of Braunschweig as Miroslav Klose’s side climbed past Karlsruhe. The hosts also climbed to 14th place, but they’re still only three points ahead of bottom-placed Preußen Münster.
