FC Augsburg centre-back Noahkai Banks is not expecting to leave the club this summer despite speculation over his future.
“My plan is to stay at FC Augsburg,” Banks told Bild, adding:
“The focus is now fully on pre-season preparations and the upcoming season.
“I want to establish myself as a regular starter, get as many minutes on the pitch as possible and have a successful season with the team," Banks added.
Reports in May suggested that Arsenal had been scouting the 19-year-old, but Bild reports that there have been no negotiations between the Gunners and Augsburg so far.
The Bundesliga outfit have high hopes for the young defender, who is under contract with the club until 2029.
“He has big, big potential," Augsburg sporting director Benjamin Weber told Bulinews.com in an exclusive interview earlier this summer.
"He’s really strong physically and a very, very good player. He has all the skills you need to become one of the best centre-backs.
“It’s good that he’s with us at the moment because we’ve followed him and prepared him for the next steps," Weber continued.
