Report: Bayern target Xavi Simons

Bayern Munich are said to have Xavi Simons on their radar.

Xavi Simons quickly established himself as a key player for RB Leipzig following his loan move from Paris Saint-Germain last summer, scoring eight goals and providing 13 assists in 32 Bundesliga appearances for Die Roten Bullen.

Therefore, it's no surprise that Leipzig are keen to extend the 21-year-old's loan spell - but apparently they're not the only Bundesliga side interested.

According to Sky Germany, Bayern Munich have targeted Xavi Simons. The club's board member for sport, Max Eberl, played a key role in bringing the 21-year-old to Germany in his former role as RB Leipzig managing director for sport and remains a big fan of the Dutchman.

However, a transfer seems difficult for the Bavarians as they would have to make room in the squad and be willing to pay 60-70 million for Simons - if PSG are willing to sell at all.

At the same time, it seems unlikely that Bayern will spend that kind of money on a player before they've found their coach for next season.

Xavi Simons is contracted to PSG until 2027.
