The list of clubs interested in Mio Backhaus continues to grow.

According to DeichStube, Borussia Dortmund recently enquired about the SV Werder Bremen goalkeeper, who is reportedly seen as a potential long-term successor to Gregor Kobel.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United are said to have already made contact with the player’s representatives.

Despite the increasing interest, Werder have reportedly not yet received any official offers for the 22-year-old shot-stopper.

Alongside Dortmund and Newcastle, AC Milan, Inter, Brighton & Hove Albion FC, Bayer 04 Leverkusen and SC Freiburg have also been linked with Backhaus.

Should Backhaus depart, Karl Hein – currently on loan from Arsenal – could be signed permanently through a purchase option to replace him.
