Dortmund updates: Cherki deal may still take time, Özcan nixes move away from BVB

Germany's Kicker Magazine reports that - contrary to reports emerging in the French press - Borussia Dortmund's purchase of Olympique Lyon attacker Rayan Cherki may not be imminent.

In other BVB-related transfer news, Germany's main sporting tabloid reports that Turkish midfielder Salih Özcan has resisted the club's efforts to sell him off to other interested parties.

Despite reports emerging early today that a deal may be imminent, Germany's Kicker Magazine is now claiming that Olympique Lyon attacker Rayan Cherki may not be so close to joining Borussia Dortmund after all. Kicker makes no comment on rumors that Cherki himself wishes to join Dortmund and is pushing for the deal to get done, only noting that the two clubs are not close to wrapping up the deal. The German journal can confirm contact between BVB and the player.

In other BVB-related transfer news, Germany's "Sport Bild" tabloid claims that Dortmund have been rebuffed in their efforts to cut their losses with respect to German-Turkish midfielder Salih Özcan. The 26-year-old's estimated market worth has declined from a peak of €17 million when he signed from Köln two summers ago to €10 million in the latest  transfermarkt update. Dortmund are said to have found interested parties, but Özcan himself doesn't wish to move.

Dortmund are reportedly close to securing the services of German international Pascal Groß, meaning that Özcan will have even less opportunity to earn playing time in the coming season. Olympique Marseille and Stade Rennes, and Besiktas are reportedly all interested in picking the former German youth international up, but the Köln native isn't keen on potentially playing for a lower salary outside of his home country.
