Jan-Christian Dreesen's was beyond happy to see Jamal Musiala make his comeback after suffering from acute seizures just weeks ago.
“Jamal trained very well," said Dreesen, speaking to Sport1 after Bayern Munich's 0-0 stalemate with Schalke 04 on Saturday.
"I thought it was great that Vincent [Kompany] included him in the squad, and also gave him minutes [against Schalke].
"He subbed him on even though the game wasn't decided, which shows how much he trusts him," said the Bayern chairman.
Dreesen went to to discuss the importance of facing adversity and how it only improves their performances over the season's course.
"Competition is really good for us and we need a challenge in the league. I remember well during Pep Guardiola's time with us, we played Augsburg in 2015.
"I don't remember which matchday it was, but we had qualified for the Champions League semi-finals – and he played with a B team against Augsburg.
"We obviously lost – and also lost the [Champions League] semi-final I don’t think it works like that. I don’t think you can calculate it that way.
“And I also don’t think you can fine-tune workload management so players are exactly at their peak and able to deliver their full 100% [in the Champions League],” he added.
The German record champions' attentions now turn to Europe as they prepare for a Champions League showdown with Bodø/Glimt this Tuesday, 8 September at 21:00 CET.
