Two out-of-form sides lock horns on Wednesday as Eintracht Frankfurt welcome Liverpool to Deutsche Bank Park in the Champions League.

After an excellent start to the season, Eintracht have fallen into a slump, winning just one of their last five games in all competitions.

Die Adler opened their Champions League campaign in style with a 5-1 win over Galatasaray, but were then beaten by the same scoreline by Atlético Madrid in their second league-phase match.

That heavy defeat was followed by a 3-0 loss to Bayern Munich and a 2-2 draw with Freiburg at the weekend, when Vincenzo Grifo’s late free-kick denied Dino Toppmöller's side all three points.

Similarly, Liverpool began the season strongly, but have now lost their last four games in all competitions. Most recently, the Reds suffered a 1-2 defeat to rivals Manchester United.

Wednesday's game will mark a special occasion for Florian Wirtz, who faces German opposition for the first time since his big-money move from Bayer Leverkusen.

The young midfielder is still looking for his first goal involvement in a Liverpool shirt and will be eager to change that on Wednesday night.

Team news and predicted lineups:

Elias Baum and Oscar Højlund are out for Eintracht Frankfurt, who otherwise have a clean bill of health.

Liverpool, meanwhile, will be without Alisson (hamstring), Giovanni Leoni (knee), and Stefan Bajcetić, while Wataru Endo is a doubt.
