Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala will not be available when Germany face Switzerland and Ghana this month after his ankle began to cause him pain again following his return to action from the serious injury he suffered at last summer’s Club World Cup.

According to Kicker, the attacking midfielder is putting in up to eight hours of work each day on his rehabilitation.

The 23-year-old is wary of rushing his return, with the current plan being to rejoin team training next week before being gradually eased back into action.

When can Jamal Musiala return from injury?

With Serge Gnabry and Lennart Karl providing strong alternatives in the central attacking midfield role, the 23-year-old is expected to sit out of the Bundesliga match against Freiburg on April 4.

Kicker reports that Musiala is targeting a return for the first leg of Bayern Munich's Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid in Spain on April 7.

Looking further ahead, Musiala’s long-term goal is to be fully fit and back at his best in time for the World Cup this summer.
