Eintracht Frankfurt has made its first decision in the battle for the starting goalkeeper position ahead of the upcoming 2026-27 season.

Sport BILD understands that Kauã Santos will be in goal for Eintracht in the DFB Cup match against fifth-division side SC St. Tönis.

Adi Hütter's decision isn't an absolute certain for the season, but the Brazilian currently has an advantage over Michael Zetterer.

Nevertheless, and regardless of the outcome of the goalkeeping duel, 31-year-old Zetterer has decided to stay in Frankfurt.

Zetterer first joined Eintracht Frankfurt from SV Werder Bremen a year ago as the Hessen outfit's number two shot-stopper.

However, because Santos repeatedly struggled with injuries and dips in form, Zetterer ended up making 28 appearances across the campaign.
