With central defenders such as Maxence Lacroix and Sebastiaan Bornauw serving as likely outgoing transfer candidates this summer, VfL Wolfsburg find themselves in need of a summer restock in central defense. Germany's green company team have been linked with disaffected Liverpool center back Sepp van den Berg, but more reliable rumors link die Wölfe with left-footed Frenchman Lilian Brassier of Stade Brest.

Wolfsburg correspondent Thomas Hiete of Germany's Kicker Magazine confirms rumors initially appearing in Italian publication "La Gazzetta dello Sport" concerning Wolfsburg's interest. The 24-year-old could be had for a tidy sum of around €12 million. Wolfsburg could net potentially twice as much via sales of Lacroix and Bornauw. The VfL have already promoted Germany U17 World Champion David Odogu to the pros.

From an administrative perspective, the club from Germany's northern Autostadt remains installing a manager in the front office to replace the departed Marcel Schäfer. Hiete reports that FC Copenhagen personnel boss Peter Christiansen's appointment should be confirmed soon. Hiete also reports that rumors linking Timo Hübers (Köln) and Oumar Solet (Salzburg) with a move to the German Wolves are unsubstantiated.
