Borussia Dortmund will most likely have to manage without Ramy Bensebaini for their away game against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Sunday.

As BVB coach Niko Kovač confirmed on Thursday, Bensebaini sustained a foot injury in last week’s 4-0 win over SC Freiburg, which saw the Algerian defender score and provide an assist.

“Ramy Bensebaini picked up a foot injury in the last match and hasn't trained. He has quite a swollen foot, so it is unlikely he will make it for the weekend,” Kovač revealed.

On Dortmund’s other injured players, he said:

“'Niki' (Süle) will still not be available. Felix Nmecha is on the road to recovery, but he has not yet trained with the team. He's on schedule, but it does not look like he will be ready for Gladbach; we will have to see for the Frankfurt game (next week).

"Karim [Adeyemi] took part in parts of training today and is on a much better path. The situation with Emre [Can] is well known (ACL injury).”

Kovač also revealed that Yan Couto and Jobe Bellingham missed training on Wednesday and Thursday with illness, but said both are expected to be fit for Sunday’s game.
