After losing their first two Champions League games of the season, 2-1 to Atletico Madrid and 3-2 to Juventus, RB Leipzig face another tough test when they welcome Liverpool to the Red Bull Arena on Wednesday night.

However, they can take heart from their domestic campaign, with a 2-0 win over Mainz on Saturday keeping them level on points with Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich.

Liverpool, meanwhile, sit top of the Premier League on 21 points after a recent 2-1 win over Chelsea, and have won both their Champions League games this season, beating AC Milan 3-1 and Bologna 2-0.

Wednesday's game comes just over two weeks after the controversial appointment of former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp as Red Bull's new Global Head of Soccer was confirmed.

Klopp's decision has come under fire, with critics claiming the 57-year-old has tarnished his reputation by accepting a job with Red Bull, who are generally unpopular with German football fans due to the commercial set-up they've implemented at RB Leipzig.

Klopp, who is due to take up his new role with Red Bull in January, will not be in attendance on Wednesday night, but his shadow is sure to hang over the game.

RB Leipzig have no new injury concerns going into the game, with Ouedraogo (back), Raum (ankle), Schlager (knee) and Seiwald (muscular) still sidelined.

Liverpool will be without Alisson (hamstring), Chiesa (muscular), Elliott (foot) and Diogo Jota (unspecified).
