Reports: Leverkusen await green light from Puerta on Brøndby transfer
Stephan van Nocks - the Leverkusen correspondent for Germany's preeminent footballing publication - nevertheless notes that the 21-year-old is hesitating amid interest from several other clubs.

Bundesliga champions Bayer 04 Leverkusen have evidently opted to offload Colombian midfielder Gustavo Puerta permanently. The 21-year-old featured seven times for Xabi Alonso's Werkself in the league last season. As part of Bayer's Europa League squad, he also earned two starts in the UEL group phase. The U20 international nevertheless maintains no real playing prospects in the squad's highly competitive midfield.
Sky Germany and Kicker Magazine both report that Germany's red company team have arranged a permanent transfer up north to Copenhagen's Brøndby IF. Sky claims that a base-transfer-fee of approximately €4 million has been agreed to. Performance-related bonuses could push the sum higher. Kicker's Stephan van Nocks, however, claims that the player is hesitating.
Puerta has been linked with a plethora of other clubs, including several Bundesliga sides. On the Isle, Rangers and Blackburn Rovers were also said to have interest. Sky presently claims that the other main contender for his services, RSC Anderlecht, are now out of the picture. Such news renders it more likely that the Brøndby deal will go through.
