Back in May, Sky Germany reported that Bayern Munich were looking into bringing Liverpool prodigy Rio Ngumoha to Germany.
The Athletic have now followed up on that story, reporting that the interest came as a big surprise to Liverpool, who never received an official approach from Bayern but made it clear that the player was not for sale.
For the Reds, it was a bizarre episode, given that Ngumoha received more first-team playing time in the Premier League than any other player aged 17 or under in the 2025/26 season.
Ngumoha, who turned 18 last week, has featured in both of Liverpool's first two Premier League games this season and even started their opening 2-2 draw with Newcastle United.
The young winger's contract with the Reds expires in 2028.
