Borussia Mönchengladbach coach Eugen Polanski provided a mixed bag of squad news ahead of his team’s away match against Borussia Dortmund on Friday.

Franck Honorat and Marvin Friedrich remain sidelined, but alongside Joe Scally, who returns from suspension, Florian Neuhaus is available again after recovering from muscular problems.

Whether Neuhaus will start will be decided after the final training session and based on Polanski’s “gut feeling”.

“He was out for three weeks, but he didn’t go three weeks without training,” said the Gladbach coach.

Polanski also reacted to the recent news that captain Tim Kleindienst is facing another injury setback due to knee problems.

“That was devastating for him and for all of us,” said Polanski.

He added that “you wouldn’t have wanted to meet” Kleindienst when he was informed of the setback, but noted that the striker was already in better spirits a few days later.

“We don’t need to worry about him losing motivation,” Polanski stressed.
