Bayern Munich have finally reached an agreement with Dayot Upamecano over a contract extension beyond the summer.

Fabrizio Romano, Sky Germany and Bild all report that the French centre-back has accepted a new deal with the Bavarians running until 2030.

The contract is said to be worth around €20 million per year in salary, includes a €20 million signing bonus and features a €65 million release clause valid from 2027.

According to Bild, the final sticking point concerned the structure of the signing bonus, with Upamecano’s representatives wanting the payment made in one lump sum, while Bayern preferred to spread it across the length of the contract.

The report adds that after Bayern’s internal deadline passed and the offer was formally withdrawn in writing, Upamecano’s camp approached the German champions and made their willingness to extend the deal clear.

An official announcement is now expected soon.
