Alcacer doubtful for Atlético game

Paco Alcacer is a doubt for Wednesday's Champions League meeting with Atlético Madrid, says Borussia Dortmund coach Lucien Favre.
The in-form Borussia Dortmund striker Paco Alcacer could miss Wednesday's Champions League game against Atlético Madrid.

Alcacer was substituted at half time in Saturday's 4-0 win over VfB Stuttgart due to a thigh problem, and Dortmund coach Lucien Favre says it's unclear if the striker will be fit for tomorrow.

"We don't know yet. We'll see. We have two more training sessions. I can't say more at the moment," Favre said when he was asked if Alcacer will be ready for the game.

Favre also made it clear that Manuel Akanji, Marcel Schmelzer and Jeremy Toljan are Dortmund's only other absentees.

Alcacer, who is on loan from FC Barcelona, has had a very convincing start to his spell at Dortmund, scoring eight goals in his first five games for the club.
