Mangala reveals desire to leave Stuttgart

VfB Stuttgart midfielder Orel Mangala wants to take the next step in his career this summer.
Orel Mangala has revealed he is looking for a move away from VfB Stuttgart during the summer transfer window.

"In the summer it may indeed be time for a change of air," Mangala told Flemish newspaper Het Nieuwsblad.

"It's true that the biggest clubs in Europe have me on their radar, but I can't mention any names. I can only say that I am looking for a nice sporting project. I want to go to a club where I can develop," he added.

Stuttgart are reportedly demanding €30 million for the 24-year-old midfielder, but that price tag is "exaggerated," according to the player.

"I'm worth €20 million, maybe 25, but no one pays €30 million for me. Certainly not in Covid times," said Mangala.'

Mangala has been in the line-up for the majority of Stuttgart's games this season, but has slipped down the pecking order recently and has started on the bench four times in a row.

His contract expires in 2024.
