Mainz confirm Fulgini signing
25-year-old attacking midfielder Angelo Fulgini has joined Mainz.
Mainz 05 have officially announced the signing of Angelo Fulgini from French Ligue 1 side Angers SCO.
The 25-year-old attacking midfielder has signed a contract through 2026 with' Die Nullfünfer'.
"Angelo Fulgini has had a top footballing education in France, coming through all the youth national teams and developing into a complete player in Ligue 1, where he is known for his set-pieces and his ability to make the difference on the pitch. Angelo is in his prime, and is a type of player who we have been missing in our squad," commented Mainz sporting director Martin Schmidt.
Fulgini said:
"I really wanted to play in the Bundesliga and there were a few clubs who were interested in me, but Mainz 05 is the right club for me. I had a lot of good discussions with Bo Svensson, but also Moussa Niakhaté, who is a close friend of mine and said some wonderful things about the club which convinced me to come. I'm looking forward to the Bundesliga now, and especially the Mainz fans."
