According to the CBSSports correspondent, the two clubs have agreed on a transfer fee some €10 million over the Frenchman's €60 million exit clause. The 25-year-old will head to the Isle for €70 million after the current campaign concludes. The Blues apparently wish to sew up the transaction quickly, possibly underpaying whilst the attacker rehabs his current injury.
Nkunku is expected to return in time for the second half off the Bundesliga season, though his current LCL tear may keep him sidelined for the initial few Bundesliga rounds after the World Cup break. German club football returns on January 20th. Nkunku still requires about 10-12 weeks recovery time.
Christopher Nkunku update. Although Leipzig call a move to Chelsea a "transfer rumour", am told there is now a broad club-to-club agreement in place for summer 2023 worth around €70m. pic.twitter.com/3h9ase5zxO
