Bochum end up loaning Mousset out

VfL Bochum's ultimate solution to the problem of suspended striker Lys Mousset was to loan the attacker out to the French second division.
After not appearing at all on the pitch for VfL Bochum and ultimately being thrown off the team earlier this month, former Bournemouth and Sheffield striker Lys Mousset will remain under contract with his German club for the time being. The 26-year-old joins Nimes Olympique on a six-month-loan completed on deadline day. Mousset's current contract with Bochum, good through the end of next season, holds.

"We hope that Lys Mousset that he can assert himself at Olympique Nîmes and get playing time," VfL sporting director Patrick Fabian noted in a terse statement accompanying the deal.

Mousset's current estimated market worth has fallen from €7 million when he signed for the Revierklub to €1.5 today. During the peak of his powers with Sheffield in 2020, he was once considered a €14 million player.
