Terzic compares Adeyemi to Road Runner after stunning solo winner

Karim Adeyemi was praised by BVB coach Edin Terzic after scoring an impressive winner against Chelsea.
Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzic compared Karim Adeyemi to the cartoon character Road Runner after the 21-year-old sprinted more than 60 metres to score a brilliant winner in last night's 1-0 Champions League round of 16 victory over Chelsea.

"Meep Meep! And then he goes," Terzic told BT Sport after the win.

"This is the quality of Karim.

"It was a corner kick and we defended it quite well. It was a dangerous situation but then when you see his acceleration... his first touch was there to accelerate the game.

"If you are quick like this then it is going to be very tough for every defence. It was a great goal and very important as it was the winning goal."

Reacting to the win, Adeyemi himself told DAZN:

"You could see that we made a difficult start, but everyone fought for each other. We then won, deservedly too. For my goal, I thought to myself: I somehow need to go around with the ball. The goalkeeper then came out and that was a bit of luck. I'm obviously very happy about the goal.

"It was incredible with these fans today. From the beginning, we tried to make it a difficult game for Chelsea. The victory is very important for the return leg. We had a good training camp and talked a lot. That's exactly how we're playing currently."
