Borussia Dortmund - Chelsea preview: Team news and predicted lineups

Here is our preview, including predicted lineups, for Wednesday's Champions League round of 16 first-leg clash between Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea.
Borussia Dortmund continue their Champions League campaign on Wednesday when they lock horns with Chelsea at Signal Iduna Park in the first of two last-16 clashes between the two clubs.

Coming off a six-game winning streak in 2023, 'Die Schwarzgelben' are hoping to carry their domestic form into Europe.

"In this competition, what has happened in the league in recent weeks does not count. It's back to square one. We want to test ourselves at a high level across the two games. We want to prepare for that in the best-possible way and put in a really good performance," BVB coach Edin Terzic is quoted of saying by the club.

"I sense the boys not only believe in reaching the next round, but are working hard for it. If we continue to consolidate the things that have worked well, we have a good chance of progressing."

Terzic is likely to make two changes to the team that beat Werder Bremen 2-0 last Saturday, with the injured Youssoufa Moukoko set to be replaced by Sebastien Haller and Giovanni Reyna likely to make way for Karim Adeyemi, who returns to the squad following his suspension.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have drawn three consecutive games and could hand starts to new signings Enzo Fernandez, Joao Felix and Mykhailo Mudryk.

Here are our predicted lineups for the game.
