Wagner threw his silver medal into the stands after final defeat

Sandro Wagner threw his silver medal into the stands after the loss to Eintracht Frankfurt in the DFB-Pokal final.

Bayern München striker Sandro Wagner had a tough last week. First, he was left out of the German squad for the World Cup and announced his international retirement as a result of that. Then, on Saturday, Wagner and Bayern lost the DFB-Pokal final 1-3 to Eintracht Frankfurt.

After the defeat, Wagner apparently didn't want to keep his silver medal so he threw it into the stands where it seems it was caught by one of the spectators.

Twitter user 'Marcus Watch' claims he caught it and has posted a number of pictures of the medal with the text:

"So Wagner threw his medal into the audience. I have it... What is it worth?"
