Augsburg boss reacts to Hinteregger's harsh Baum criticism

Martin Hinteregger took a swipe at his own coach after Augsburg's 0-2 loss to Borussia Mönchengladbach. His controversial statements will now be discussed internally, says Augsburg boss Stefan Reuter.
FC Augsburg coach Manuel Baum was openly criticized by one of his own players after the club's 0-2 defeat to Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday.

"I can't say anything positive about him, and I will not say anything negative," Augsburg defender Martin Hinteregger told Bayerische Rundfunk.

Now, Hinteregger must face the consequences of his controversial comments.

"These statements are not acceptable. We'll discuss it internally first," Augsburg sporting director Stefan Reuter told Bild.

In the wake of the Gladbach game, the Augsburg boss underlined that he remains confident in Baum's work.

"We're absolutely convinced by Manuel. Together, it's our task to think about how we can return to the road to success," he said.

Augsburg are sitting 15th and haven't won a Bundesliga game since the end of October.
