Report: Olmo possibly out long-term with knee sprain

Spanish sports daily "Mundo Deportivo" nevertheless now reports that the 25-year-old has suffered a high degree knee sprain. Such an injury could sideline Olmo for a month or more.
After scoring a hat trick against Bayern in the DFL Supercup, Olmo continued to exhibit fine form in the initial stages of the 2023/24 Bundesliga campaign. The 32-times-capped international got his name on the scoresheet in all three of Leipzig's league fixtures. Olmo netted a goal against Leverkusen on matchday one, scored again against Stuttgart in round two, and registered an assist against Union Berlin last Sunday.
