Real Madrid reportedly keeping tabs on Leverkusen trio

Real Madrid are not only interested in Xabi Alonso, but also some of his Bayer Leverkusen players, according to Sport.
Bayer Leverkusen have made a sensational start to the season, leading the Bundesliga and winning all but one - a 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich - of their games so far.

With that in mind, it's no surprise that their key players have caught the eye of some of Europe's top clubs.

According to Sport, Real Madrid are closely monitoring the performances of Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz and Victor Boniface.

Frimpong is seen as a possible long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal at right-back. The right-back is under contract with the Bundesliga leaders until 2028, but has a reported release clause in the region of €35-40 million.

Wirtz would bolster Real's attacking midfield, while Boniface would be a huge boost up front, where the La Liga giants sorely miss Karim Benzema.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Boniface has also attracted interest from other top European clubs after an impressive start to the season.

The Nigeria international has scored 11 goals in 16 appearances and was named Bundesliga Rookie of the Month for August, September and October.

Real Madrid have also been heavily linked with a move for Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso.
