Thomas Kastanaras of VfB Stuttgart will spend the remainder of the season with SSV Ulm in the 3. Liga. The 20-year-old's parent club confirmed the six-month-arrangement on Tuesday. Personnel issues in the VfB Stuttgart side last spring lead to Kastanaras making four appearances (one start) with the senior team. He was among the players listed as "dead-weight" on the senior team's payroll.

Thus far this year, the Stuttgart-native has only featured for the VfB reserves. The young talent has scored six goals for VfB II in the Regionalliga. He made trainer Sebastian Hoeneß' match-day squad twice this year, yet hasn't logged any minutes. Kastanaras once scored 26 goals in 20 games for the U-19 squad in the 2021/22 season.

"Match practice is very important for Thomas' further development," VfB sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth commented in a club statement, "As an ambitious third division club, SSV Ulm is a very good location for this. We will be closely monitoring him."
