Leverkusen secure semi-final spot with late comeback win over Stuttgart

Jonathan Tah scored a late winner as Bayer Leverkusen secured a 3-2 comeback victory over VfB Stuttgart to reach the DFB-Pokal semi-finals.
Bayer Leverkusen are through to the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal after defeating VfB Stuttgart 3-2 in an entertaining match at the BayArena on Tuesday night.

The visitors opened the scoring in the 11th minute from a set-piece when Waldemar Anton got the better of Edmond Tapsoba and powered a header over Matej Kovar and into the Leverkusen goal.

After pushing hard for the equaliser, Leverkusen were finally rewarded for their efforts in the 50th minute when Robert Andrich unleashed a fantastic curler into the top corner.

Eight minutes later, Stuttgart regained the lead through Chris Führich, who buried a shot into the net after receiving a pass from Enzo Millot in the box.

But Leverkusen were far from finished and struck back in the 66th minute when second-half substitute Amine Adli coolly slotted the ball past Alexander Nübel after latching onto a fantastic through ball from Florian Wirtz.

Then, with stoppage time approaching, Leverkusen secured the win through Jonathan Tah. The towering center-back nodded home a superb cross from Florian Wirtz to send the home fans into a frenzy.
