Domenico Tedesco will still be the coach of Schalke 04 when 'The Royal Blues' face Werder Bremen on Friday, Bild understands.

Schalke are playing their worst season in 36 years, having won just 23 points in 24 league games, and it was believed the past weekend's embarrassing 0-4 defeat to Fortuna Düsseldorf could be the final straw for Tedesco.

However, the club's new head of sport, Jochen Schneider, has apparently decided to let the 33-year-old stay in charge for Friday's game, because he isn't convinced that an interim coach would be able to do a better job.

There are doubts, though, if Tedesco still has a future at Schalke – even if he manages to end the season respectably.
