Frankfurt boss: Jovic promised me three goals before the match

Luka Jovic made the difference as he scored Eintracht Frankfurt's match-winning goal against Inter last night. But he actually promised to score three goals before the game, says Frankfurt boss Fredi Bobic.
Eintracht Frankfurt are through to the Europa League quarter-finals after beating Inter 1-0 in Milan last night.

Luka Jovic made the difference as he scored the sole goal of the game after six minutes, but in spite of that, the striker should actually be a tad disappointed, Eintracht Frankfurt board member Fredi Bobic said with a twinkle in his eye.

"I'm actually a bit angry", the Frankfurt boss told RTL with a wink and added:

"He promised me three goals before the match."

Jokes aside, Bobic said he was immensely proud of his team and that he felt they had the chances to win 3-0, 4-0 or 5-0.

"I'm very proud, because they were in the game from the first minute. Everyone dug in. The team is alive, and the boys more than earned it," Bobic said.

It's the first time since 1995 that Eintracht Frankfurt have reached the quarter-finals of a European competition.
