BVB boss: We don't need another striker

Borussia Dortmund don't need to sign another striker, says club boss Hans-Joachim Watzke.
Borussia Dortmund have been linked with plenty of strikers over the last few months, but club CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke now underlines that he sees no need to bring in a new forward.

With Paco Alcacer as well as Mario Götze, Thorgan Hazard and Jacob Bruun Larsen, BVB have plenty of options for the forward position, argues Watzke.

"I feel we have a natural centre-forward which means we have just as many natural forwards as Bayern München, namely one. Paco Alcacer has just scored in our recent test matches, and to be honest I don't understand the whole discussion," Watzke said in an interview with Ruhr Nachrichten and continued:

"He's much stronger this year, because he can take part in the full pre-season. Therefore, nobody should pretend that we don't have strikers. We also have Mario Götze, Thorgan Hazard and Jacob Bruun Larsen who can all play this position. That's why the striker discussion is mainly led by the media, not by us."

Alcacer scored 19 goals in 32 appearances for Dortmund last season.
